My favorite bands are Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, 30 Seconds to Mars, Good Charlotte and Flyleaf. My favorite movies are Fight Club, Black Swan, Push, Saw, Kick- Ass, and Superbad. A Critical Review of Google Docs (Extra Credit)

            Google Docs is a great way for people to save their documents online without anyone seeing it. It is pretty much like Microsoft Word but online. It is an excellent way to save work especially when you don’t have a USB stick. You can accesses Google Docs wherever there is internet so you can save your work and then edit it somewhere else. It is great for students because if they don’t have a USB stick and you have to write something for school and don’t finish it, you can save it to Google Docs and then finish it at home. It’s great for business for the same reason because not everyone has a computer that they take back and forth from their job so it’s easy to do work at home. It isn’t very good for business however because not all business can be done on it. It isn’t very good for news because you don’t look at other people’s Google Docs, it’s just for yourself, so you can’t see what news is going on. It isn’t very good for social purposes either because of the same reason, you can’t communicate with it, however you can use Gmail, just not Google Docs.

A Critical Review of MySpace and Facebook

            MySpace and Facebook are the two biggest sites for social networking. With both sites, you can add friends, send private messages, write on a public wall, post pictures, make status updates, post videos, and much more. With both of them you can keep in touch with friends and family all over the world and can even see what your favorite celebrities are up to. You can make your own profile and look at other peoples profiles as well. Profiles include your information such as your relationship status, favorite movies, favorite music, status updates and any other information that you would like to put on there. MySpace and Facebook aren’t too good for business purposes unless you are looking to interview someone for a job and you can see their profile, otherwise it doesn’t really help much business wise. Facebook and MySpace are good for entertainment purposes because most bands and musicians have ones and will post updates on them. MySpace and Facebook aren’t really too good for news updates unless one of your friends writes something about the news. They are very good for recreational purposes because it is a fun thing to do and you can post pictures and make status updates and be as creative as you want. I think that Facebook and MySpace are the best for social purposes because you can connect with friends and see their pictures and what they are up to. It’s great for keeping communication with people who you don’t see much. Overall MySpace and Facebook are great sites for social, entertainment, and recreational purposes.

LinkedIn Review

            LinkedIn is a social networking site that is used mainly for business. LinkedIn is probably the best site for business because this is how a lot of business companies find new employees. You can search for your dream companies and can send invitations to the people who work there. LinkedIn is good for social purposes because it lets you connect to people who you know and people in other businesses whom you would want to get to know. It is also good for recreational purposes because it is a more fun way to look for jobs and search for them and get to know the people personally who work there. LinkedIn can be abused because if someone hacks your profile, they can send out things that you don’t want them to, to a business that maybe you wanted to work in.

A Critical Review of Twitter

            Twitter is a new and exciting way for communication. Many celebrities have a twitter so their fans can keep up with them and know what they are doing. Many people aside from celebrities also have a twitter as a new way to communicate to friends and family. Twitter can be also accessed from a phone, not just by a computer. Twitter is very good for business because it is a fast, easy way to update coworkers on what you are doing. It is bad for business because it is very public and everyone who follows you gets updates on what you are writing. Twitter is good for social purposes because it allows you to communicate with your friends and family quicker than blogging does. It also has the option to follow someone which means that you see everything that they are writing. You can also direct message someone which is like a private email which is good for social purposes and business. There aren’t really any downsides to twitter for social reasons because there are ways to make things not so public. Twitter is an excellent way for knowing the latest information on your favorite celebrities. Fans can follow a celebrity and know what they are up to. It’s great for fans to connect with celebrities. There isn’t a downside to twitter for entertainment purposes. Twitter is an okay way for people to get the latest news. Most news companies have company twitters but it definitely isn’t as good as the real thing, especially because you are only allowed 140 characters for each post. Twitter is good for recreational purposes because you can post pictures and videos, but it isn’t as good as blogging because you can’t write that much on it. Overall, Twitter is great for certain things and is great for communication. Twitter can be abused because many people write really mean things to other people, especially because you don’t have to be friends with the person in order to write to them, so people write mean random things to others.

Critical Analysis of a Current Trend in Technological Communication

            A blog is defined as a typed of website designed by an individual that is personalized with their interests, pictures, video, and commentary. There are blogs pretty much about everything. Blogging is a good way for people to get their word out into the world. Blogging has been around for a long time and hopefully will be in the future. In 1999 Peter Merholz announced that he was making something called a “wee-blog”, which was then shortened just to blog.

            Blogging is good and bad for business, a form of social networking, entertainment, news, and recreational purposes. It can be good for business because it’s a good way of communicating and sharing ideas really well. It can, however, be bad for business because not all business wants the whole world to know about their business. Blogging is good for social networking because it creates a community for blogging. It also lets you comment on posts so it’s very easy to communicate through blogging. It’s bad for social networking because the internet makes it very hard for people to know what you mean when you are typing something. Blogging is extremely good for entertainment because it’s really easy to see updates on movies or music or celebrities. People make blogs about specific entertainment such as a certain movie or celebrity and they update it often so you get the latest information on them. It is bad for entertainment because a lot of things that people write on blogs are just rumors so most celebrities do not want rumors out there and there are bloggers who write rumors about them, which is not fair for the celebrities. Blogging is very good for news because bloggers update their blogs often with the newest news,  I don’t think there is a downside for blogging with the news. Recreational blogging is a great way for people such as friends and family to view old pictures or look at new ones. The only downside is that it is very public and everyone can see what they are posting. Blogging is so public that anyone can comment on someone’s blog or post. People can get offended by comments and some people write extremely mean things that should not be written.

Avenged Sevenfold

My favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold. They are a popular rock band from Huntington Beach, California. The group consists of lead singer M. Shadows, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, and bassist Johnny Christ. The original drummer was James "The Rev" Sullivan, who died on December 28th, 2009 due to combining drugs. The Rev was the base of the band and was one of the greatest drummers ever known to date. Avenged Sevenfold has released five albums and fifteen singles. They are classified as a heavy metal band. Some of their singles are: "Dear God", "Nightmare", "Streets", "Beast and the Harlot", "Bat Country", "Almost Easy" and "Seize the Day".
